Congratulation Wellspring Living on opening Tiny House Village for Graduates

Recently, we celebrated the completion of our mentors, Tiny Home Village for Wellspring Living graduates at their ribbon cutting ceremony!

Officially named "J & J Village," this beautiful nine-home community is a solution to the housing need for Wellspring Living's adult women program graduates. As survivors continue building their new life, this transitional housing provides them with a safe place that gives them dignity, respects their recovery, and further impacts their families' futures.

Eighty companies, 29 churches, and over 2,000 volunteers are a part of the fantastic efforts in making this three-year dream a reality! We are inspired by what can happen when people come together.

Micah's Promise is also grateful to have the chance to thank First Lady of Georgia Marty Kemp, who was in attendance for her support in the fight against trafficking! Micah's Promise loves our Mentors at Wellspring Living and the hopeful example they set in helping others.

Mary Frances Bowley Endorses Micah's Promise

Speaker 1: Good morning. This is Mary Francis Bowley with Wellspring Living. And I just wanted to share with our relationship with Bobbi Starr and Micah's Promise.

Speaker 1: Wellspring Living began over 17 years ago and we provided first of all, housing and residential care and comprehensive services for women. And then in 2008 at the encouragement of Mayor Shirley Franklin, we began to work with girls in a residential setting. Providing for them a hybrid education model as well as therapeutic services and life skills in a safe environment. Bobbi and her team have been in a mentorship program that we provide for other organizations. The purpose of this mentorship program is to help them move forward with lots of support so that they don't miss anything. E very detail for opening up a facility is covered in the mentorship program.

Speaker 1: We had been doing this as you can tell for a while and the success and the encouragement that we've received about how this model is truly making a difference ofr the girls that we serve and the community has been phenomenal.

Speaker 1: Recently I was with CJCC and they were talking about the need for this type of services to be across our state. Columbus is a huge area where we have seen the frequency of trafficking and the need for residential care in that community.

Speaker 1: And so it is our joy to recommend to you that Micah's Promise would be a great place for you to invest because if you invest in the life of a girl who has gone through this horrible complex trauma, you are preventing further exploitation, further incarceration, further problems in her life.

Speaker 1: We know that without intervention you can see that this person that we get to care for these young girls, that you're going to be able to en courage and street than we go in a very dark path. But if they have this kind of intervention, what we've seen as girls move on and go to college, get married, have families become contributing members of the community. And I know that's what you want to happen in Columbus, Georgia.

Speaker 1: That's why Micah's Promise has taken the steps, the courageous steps, and the hard steps to take on this very big project. I hope that you will be so encouraged with their, with their commitment and be involved by investing generously to see girls have a future and a hope. Thank you so much.
