Our Home

A Place for Healing and Restoration

Our residential therapeutic treatment program will serve girls ages 12-17 who are survivors of domestic minor sex trafficking. Our program offers a continuum of care, including therapy, education, and life skills classes. The program is designed to foster a holistic change in the life of each survivor, in a safe and supportive environment, allowing her to heal, grow, and create a new and restored life.

THERAPY PROGRAMS

Every girl will be supported by our staff and volunteers throughout her journey of healing. Our therapeutic program will include: weekly personal therapy, daily group therapy, family therapy.  The program is strength-based and trauma-informed, meeting each survivor at her place of need and working towards healing.

Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidenced-based therapy and treatment for children with a history of traumatic events, whether multiple events or a single traumatic event. TF-CBT is especially helpful in treating individuals experiencing PTSD.

The goals of this treatment are a reduction of the negative behavior patterns and reducing stress and reactions to stress, while increasing a positive emotional state.

EDUCATION

Educational success is an important key to removing barriers for survivors, so they can progress toward living a healthy life. Our home will be a certified Georgia Residential Treatment School under the jurisdiction of Muscogee County Schools. Because vulnerable girls do not respond to traditional education, we will provide a hybrid learning style in an interactive learning environment. Our academic services will include an accredited, personalized curriculum, developed for each girl, with a focus on closing any gaps in their educational level.

EQUINE THERAPY

The benefits of equine therapy are well documented for emotionally traumatized people, including those suffering from PTSD. Equine therapy acts as a catalyst to help traumatized individuals learn to express emotions, and empowers them to set boundaries for themselves and with others.

AGRICULTURAL THERAPY AND GARDENING

Gardening therapy can serve as a way to reconnect victims of trauma with life in a very simple and elemental way. Our girls will be able to plant and witness the life cycle of growth, taking pride in their work and connecting with nature.

AFTERCARE

Trauma-focused and trained foster families will provide mentoring throughout the recovery process when appropriate and necessary. Partnerships with local foster care ministries and child protective agencies are important to facilitate continuous provision of care and consistency.
