Education and Experience:

●      Bachelor’s degree

●      Experience in nonprofit work preferred

Position Summary: The Administrative Assistant will work collaboratively with all staff to support the mission of Micah’s Promise and represent its values when interacting with staff and the community. This position is a key link in supporting the efficient and smooth day-to-day operations of the organization.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): 

●      Communicate with all departments of the organization to identify available opportunities for scheduling and meetings

●      Help the Outreach Coordinator recruit volunteers

●      Schedule and coordinate meetings and speaking engagements for the Executive Director

●      Regularly communicate with the Development Director to enhance annual and monthly giving opportunities

●      Draft, maintain, and publish guidelines, best practices, and procedures for volunteer program, donor relationships, fundraising and administrative goals.

●      Help the Outreach Coordinator maintain a marketing calendar for social media and events

●      Cultivate relationships with donors, tells the story of Micah’s Promise, and maintains strong ties within the community

●      Coordinate volunteer recognition and appreciation events and activities.

●      Perform other related duties as required.

●      Model behavior management and de-escalation skills to participants and other staff

●      Provide care to program participants and staff without regard to race, gender, ethnicity, religious or spiritual beliefs

Program Support

●     Provide support to the team, including scheduling meetings, phone calls, travel arrangements, and event coordination.

●      General administrative duties including drafting communications, managing mailings, customer service, preparing reports, and maintaining appropriate filing systems.

●      Office management duties including ordering supplies, troubleshooting technology problems, and coordinating with outside vendors for services/repairs.

●      Providing support to the board of directors, including meeting scheduling and distribution of board materials, when needed.

●      Special projects and other tasks as assigned. For example, help to plan and coordinate meaningful activities and events for staff and donors

●      Collaborate with administrative staff and volunteers and other team members to identify innovative strategies to support the personal growth of

●      Develop community partnerships and identify program resources for participants, including volunteers, in-kind support, fundraising support, access to experiences and opportunities, and mentors

●      Contribute to the visibility of the organization by representing Micah’s Promise at community events.

●      Bring ideas from events, meetings, etc. back to the organization to contribute to our on-going effort to understand and support nonprofits in the Chattahoochee Valley.

●      Promote and support Micah’s Promise advocacy and work in and out of the office.

●      Follow all GRP policies and procedures when on property, as well as what is outlined in the Participant Handbook (dress code, procedures for hygiene, medicine administration, etc.)

●      Actively support security and facility objectives, particularly regarding on-site visitors

 Qualifications:

●      Administrative, organizational, and computer skills including use of email and Microsoft Office suite of products

●      Never have been shown by credible evidence (e.g., a court or jury, a department investigation, or other reliable evidence) to have abused, neglected, sexually exploited, or deprived a child or adult or to have subjected any person to serious injury as a result of intentional or grossly serious injury as a result of intentional or grossly negligent misconduct as evidenced by an oral or written statement to this effect obtained at the time of application and evidence of having made efforts to obtain and evaluate references from previous employers

●      Documentation of references (at least two professional and one personal) that attest to the person’s capability of performing the duties of the position and to the person’s suitability of working with or around children and vulnerable populations

Position Requirements:

●      Moderate local travel required related to program needs, as well as occasional travel for trainings and speaking engagements

●      Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds, work for long periods at a computer, and drive company vehicle as needed

●      Satisfactory criminal history background check, as well as a satisfactory fingerprint records check determination as required by law

●      Clean Motor Vehicle Record

●      Documentation from a licensed physician or other licensed healthcare professional of a health screening examination within 30 days of hiring sufficient in scope to identify conditions that may place residents at risk of infection, injury or improper care

●      Participation in all required trainings and competency in areas of training content

●      Participation in all outreach and fundraising activities, as able
